CPI right at estimates. Headline driven by an 8.4% increase in gasoline which accounted for 60% of the increase. Food also cont'd to increase up 0.4%. I don't spend a lot of time on CPI but FWIW the indexes for apparel, motor vehicle insurance, new vehicles, personal care,
and household furnishings and operations all rose in December. The indexes for used cars and trucks,
recreation, and medical care were among those to decline over the month. Biggest increase in 2020 was used cars and trucks up 10%. Biggest decrease for 2020 was fuel oil (-20%) and gasoline (-15.2%).
